Every Forth of July Weekend, Des Moines Iowa gets a little cooler when the 80/35 music festival returns.
Named after the two major interstates that intersect in Iowa’s capital, 80/35 brings both nationally and locally recognized musicians to Des Moines.
Now celebrating its fifth anniversary, 80/35 has really outdone itself this year. The line up for 2012 includes Dinosaur Jr., Death Cab for Cutie, The Avett Brothers, and nearly 40 other artists.
The best news of all about 80/35 is that unlike major festivals, buying tickets is neither expensive nor time sensitive. One-day passes are available at the doors for a mere 45 dollars.
If you are in the Des Moines area, or even the Midwest on July 6th and 7th, 80/35 is worth a stop.
Check back tomorrow for a day one dispatch of the festival!
