What’s trending today: Letting you know what’s up with your Twitter feed

#1 and #2 14 juillet, Bastille day: The 14th of July is French National Day, and is celebrated in memory of the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789.  Other countries that celebrate Bastille day include: Belgium, Hungary, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and even, yes, the United States.  Cities in the U.S. of A. celebrating (that we know of) are: Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Montgomery (Ohio), New Orleans, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle.

#3 5 Steph: 5 Steph refers to surfer Stephanie Gilmore, who has won the ASP World Surfing Championship five times! The Australian started surfing at age 10 and hasn’t gotten off her board since.  She likes to play the guitar and her music interests include Eric Clapton, Ben Harper, and Jimi Hendrix.

#4 Sjaak Hullekes: Another fresh face to the fashion industry, Hullekes is a Dutch designer, who partnered with Sebastic to create the Arnheim Fashion group with a thing for designing menswear.  Famous for Sebastic’s take on men’s “lingerie” and the brands Victorian-esque aesthetic, they aren’t leaving the fashion scene anytime soon.

#5 Glen Allen: Surprisingly to us, not referring to a person, but Glen Allen, Virginia is the city of the day as far as the POTUS is concerned.  Obama will be stopping by for a visit in hopes of winning a vote or two in his campaign.

#6 Paul Lambert’s: Paul Lambert is a scottish professional association football manager currently for Aston Villa’s “Claret & Blue Army” as you will see it referred to on the Twittersphere.

#7 Phillips Idowu: Today triple-jumping Nigerian-English prodigy Idowu, to much surprise, pulled out of the London Grand Prix with a back injury, dashing the dreams of winning Olympic gold in track & field events at London. We at Cobalt wish him a speedy recovery, and hope he is able to get back on his feet soon!
