Ever since the fall/winter 2012 collections embraced intricate beading and mixing metals, metallics have become a way to adapt the gilded and lux trends without going too crazy. Metallics are an easy way to update your wardrobe because you can go as bold or as safe as you’d like and still look on trend.
The good news for us is that designers incorporated metallics in all aspects of their collections. Badgley Mischka chose a more subtle approach and did a chic fall French manicure. The models’ nails were painted a deep fall red color with a metallic French tip. Try the OPI nail polish in Bogota Blackberry and China Glaze in Millennium to create your own version of this trend.
Want another way to incorporate the trend? Try metallic cap-toe shoes. First designed by Coco Chanel in 1957, they have taken the fashion world by a storm this season. Metallic cap-toe shoes come in all forms from ballet flats to heels for those who want to elevate their style to new heights. We saw these shoes all over the runway from designers like Louis Vuitton (see cream pump below) and Christian Louboutin. Try shoes like Zara’s Ballerina Metal Cap Toe and the Guess Myrick Cap-Toe Pumps to emulate this trend.
